Appointments

A women’s health doctor is at the Centre on Tuesdays, 2pm – 7pm (by appointment only).

The doctor bulk bills through the Medicare Scheme. Most pathology tests are also bulk billed but you may be required to pay for some medical tests. The women’s health doctor will inform you about charges during your appointment.

women’s health doctor appointments are booked for 20 minutes: please arrive on time for your appointment. Some consultations may be complex & take longer. Please be patient if you are waiting for your appointment.

Post-natal appointments with a baby require a 40-minute appointment to enable the doctor to perform a thorough check-up of mother and baby.

Our doctor specialises in women’s health issues including pap smears, breast checks, contraception, pregnancy tests, unplanned pregnancy, screening and treatment of sexually transmitted infections, menopause management, post-natal checks, sexual health, fertility, vaginal and urinary tract infections (UTI), bladder function, menstrual (period) problems.

The doctor does not provide crisis or emergency health care and is not available for general medical issues, such as colds and flu.

Confidentiality

All consultations are confidential except:

If you are under 14 years old.
If you are under 16 years old and have a serious health condition, are expecting a baby, or the doctor believes there are significant safety concerns, she may be required to inform appropriate support services.
If your medical records are formally requested in accordance with applicable laws.

If you are listed on the same Medicare card as your parent/family/guardian it is possible (but unlikely) for other adults on the Medicare card to know that you visited our doctor. If you are aged 15 years or over, you can get your own Medicare card free of charge through Medicare Australia.
