Referrals to Bankstown Women’s Health Centre
Before Referring
Bankstown Women’s Health Centre is a free, confidential and trauma-informed women’s health service supporting women across the Bankstown and Canterbury Local Government Areas.
We provide a safe, culturally respectful, and women-only space for women seeking support, advocacy, counselling, casework, and health-related services.
We work from a feminist, trauma-informed and client-centred approach.
Eligibility
To access services at Bankstown Women’s Health Centre, clients must:
- Identify as a woman
- Live in the Bankstown or Canterbury LGA
- Require support that falls within the scope of our services
Interpreter services are available if required. Please advise us during the initial phone call if an interpreter is needed.
What We Can Support With
Depending on eligibility and service availability, we may provide support with:
- Domestic and family violence
- Women’s health and wellbeing
- Counselling and emotional support
- Child and adolescent trauma counselling
- Casework and advocacy
- Health promotion and group programs
- Referrals to specialist and community services
- Trauma-informed support for women experiencing social, emotional or practical challenges
Out of Scope Referrals
Bankstown Women’s Health Centre is not a crisis service and may not be able to support referrals involving:
- Immediate crisis or emergency situations
- Complex or acute mental health presentations requiring specialist intervention
- Clients requiring intensive psychiatric or clinical mental health support
- Complex visa, migration or immigration matters
- Clients requiring homelessness crisis accommodation placement
Some referrals may be declined if they fall outside the scope of our services or current service capacity.
Where appropriate, we will aim to provide warm referrals or referral pathways to more suitable specialist services.

Referral Pathways
We have strong referral pathways and partnerships with a range of specialist services across Southwestern Sydney and may assist clients to connect with more appropriate supports where needed.
