Referring to Bankstown Women’s Health Centre
Bankstown Women’s Health Centre is a free, confidential and trauma-informed women’s health service supporting women across the Canterbury-Bankstown region. We provide a safe, culturally responsive and women-only space for women seeking support, advocacy, counselling, health and wellbeing services.
We welcome referrals from :
- Community Organisations
- Health Professionals
- Schools
- Government Agencies
- Support Services
- and Other Allied Health Providers.
Eligibility Criteria
Clients referred to the Centre must generally :
- Identify as a woman
- Live in the Canterbury-Bankstown Local Government Area
- Require support that falls within the scope of our services
Some programs and services may have additional eligibility criteria.
Interpreter services are available where required. Please advise us during the referral or intake process if an interpreter is needed.

Services We May Provide
Depending on eligibility, service scope and capacity, referrals may be considered for :
- Domestic and family violence support
- Casework and advocacy
- Generalist counselling
- Child and adolescent trauma counselling
- Women’s health support
- Health promotion and wellbeing programs
- Group programs and workshops
- Referrals to specialist services
Out of Scope Referrals
Bankstown Women’s Health Centre is not a crisis service and may not be able to accept referrals involving :
- Immediate crisis or emergency situations
- Complex or acute mental health presentations requiring specialist psychiatric intervention
- Clients requiring intensive clinical mental health management
- Complex visa, migration or immigration matters
- Clients requiring homelessness crisis accommodation placement

Referrals that fall outside our service scope or current capacity may be declined. Where appropriate, our team will aim to provide referral pathways or warm referrals to more suitable specialist services.

Referral Process
All referrals are reviewed by our intake team and assessed based on :
- Eligibility
- Service Scope
- Risk
- Complexity
- and Current Capacity
Submitting a referral does not guarantee acceptance into the service.
Our team may contact either the referrer or client directly to discuss the referral further.
