At Bankstown Womens Health Centre in support of Womens Health NSW we back the call for an immediate Cease Fire in Gaza Strip!. We also call for the provision of food, water and medical supplies into Gaza to provide much needed aid and assistance. The difficulties are recognised .... the extreme challenges to provide a safe delivery services for an estimated 50,000 Palestinian women currently pregnant and 5,522 women expected to give birth during the next month. The women of Palestine need access to safe delivery services which includes a fully functional and well-stocked health facility. It is also recognised that a wider climate of violence exacerbates gender-based harms experienced by women and girls. The associated pressures that this rise in violence has and will put on local services supporting the health and wellbeing of women has also been compromised. 🎰 **Gamble Aware Week 2023** 🚫 From October 🎰 **Gamble Aware Week 2023** 🚫

From October 16th to October 22nd, we're joining hands with Gamble Aware Week to shine a light on a crucial issue - the impact of gambling on our lives.

πŸ€” This year's theme: **"What's Gambling Costing You?"** It's a wake-up call to reflect on the costs of gambling to our HEALTH, RELATIONSHIPS, CAREERS, and, yes, our FINANCES.

🌟 As an organization, we're committed to spreading the message far and wide. Here's how you can join us:

βœ… Share Gamble Aware Week messages on your social media pages.
βœ… Display posters at your workplace or community events.
βœ… Start conversations about responsible gambling within your circle.

This is our chance to raise awareness about risky gambling behaviours, help individuals recognize when they're at risk, and offer practical ways to regain control.

πŸ“£ We want to hear from you! How will you be getting involved and spreading the message for Gamble Aware Week 2023? Share your plans down below.

🀝 Remember, if you or someone you know needs assistance, reach out to GambleAware at 1800 858 858 - they're available 24/7, offering free, confidential advice and support. Visit [https://www.gambleaware.nsw.gov.au/](https://www.gambleaware.nsw.gov.au/) for more resources.

🌟 Today is #RUOKDay, a reminder of the importan 🌟 Today is #RUOKDay, a reminder of the importance of checking in on our loved ones and strangers alike. It's not just a day; it's a lifeline that can make a world of difference.

🀝 Every conversation you have today can be a step towards saving someone's life. In a world where we often hide our struggles, a simple "Are you okay?" can break the silence and offer hope.

πŸ’¬ Let's remember that the power of genuine human connection is not limited to just one day. We can extend this compassion every single day. It costs nothing to ask, to listen, and to be there for someone.

❀️ Mental health is a journey, and it's okay not to be okay sometimes. By fostering a culture of empathy and support, we can create a safer, more understanding world for everyone.

πŸ’ͺ So, on #RUOKDay and beyond, let's commit to checking in on our friends, family, and even strangers. You never know whose life you might touch or save by simply showing you care. πŸ’•

Attended an informative Cancer Innovation Conferen Attended an informative Cancer Innovation Conference 2023 today, where we learned some staggering statistics about cancer.

Every week, 980 people are diagnosed, and 413 people lose their lives to this disease. Cancer remains the leading cause of death in Australia.

The event emphasised the importance of equity, person-centered care, and collaboration in cancer research.

Professor Tracey O’Brien, NSW chief cancer officer and CEO, reminded us that cancer affects everyone differently. The presentation by Professor Gail Garvey shed light on the cancer inequity faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People, with a 14% higher incidence rate and 48% lower survival chance.
